How do I retrieve my TransIP account password if lost?

It is possible you are unable to log on to your control panel, because you have lost your login credentials. This article will show you the procedure to recover your login credentials to the TransIP Control Panel.

I want to retrieve my login credentials

Visit the login page of your TransIP Control Panel and click on 'Forgot your credentials?'. The following page will be showed.

    Forgot login credentials

Fill in the e-mail address that is tied to your TransIP account. This email address can normally be found in 'My account' in your Control Panel and is usually the same email address on which you receive your invoices.

When the correct email address is entered, you will see a confirmation. We will send an email to this email address containing the user name of your account with TransIP and a link with which you can change your password.

After resetting the password via this link, you will be automatically logged on to your account with TransIP. In the future you will be able to log on with your user name and the new password.

You can also change your password when you're logged on to your Control Panel. To do so, click on your user name in the top right corner. Next, click on 'My account' and click on the tab 'Security' to change your password.

To change the email address of your account, go to 'My account' and enter a new email address below 'Email address'. For security purposes, we request you enter the password of your account here as well.

    • When an email address is tied to several TransIP accounts, you will receive seperate emails with the user names and password reset links for those accounts.

    • We recommend using an email address that doesn't use a domain name registered in your TransIP account. In the unexpected case the domain name goes offline, you will not be able to reset your password via 'Forgot your credentials?'.

I do not have access to the email address linked to my account

It might happen that you have lost the login credentials to your account and the email address linked to the account is unknown or inactive.

In that case we can change the email address in your account, which enables you to retrieve your login credentials once more via 'Forgot your credentials?'. Take note that additional steps are required to ensure you are the rightful owner of the account.

This is done by verifying confidential information linked to your account. This verification is done based on the fact if your account is registered to a person or a company.

My account is registered to a person

Read the following steps if your TransIP is account registered to a person. Following these steps enables you to have the email adress in your account changed, so you can log on to your account once more.

    Step 1

Send an email to support@transip.nl. Make sure to mention that you have lost the login credentials of your account and the email address linked to the account is no longer active or known.

Make sure to send as much information as possible to allow us to verify your ownership. We require the following information:

    • A copy of your ID (this can be a passport, ID card or a driver's license). You may cover the social security number, the photo and document number of this document.

    • A screenshot of your latest bank statement, where the account number, amount paid and description are clearly visible.

    • The email address you wish to use in your account. This email address will be used in your account upon completion of this procedure.

    Step 2

Once your request has been received, we will send an email to the email address that is linked to your account. This allows us to verify that this request is not made with malicious intent.

It is possible that this email is sent to one of your existing email address. This would simply mean you registered your account with one of your other email addresses.

If this is the case, you can retrieve your login credentials with this email address by entering it on the 'Forgot your credentials?' page. Please notify our support department afterwards so we can close the procedure.

    Step 3

When the email sent to the email address in your account has not been replied to within 3 working days, we will finalize the procedure. This means we will change the email address in your account to the email address supplied in the initial request of Step 1.

We will then inform you that the email address has been changed. You will then be able to retrieve your login credentials by entering the email addres on the 'Forgot your credentials?' page.

Does your account use two-factor authentication and have you lost these credentials as well? We will then have to verify your ownership by phone call as well as by requesting a screenshot of a bank statement.

Due to safety reasons, the verification by phone will take place one month after the screenshot of the bank statement has been supplied. This is done to guarantee the safety of your account.

We realise the procedure to change the email address in your account may come across as cumbersome. However, as we place high value on safety, we insist on using this procedure.

This is the safest way to establish you are the rightful owner or are acting on behalf of the rightful owner. We thank you for your understanding and patience.
