    What is a snapshot?

On our VPS platform you have the possibility to create snapshots. These are you one on one copies of your VPS as it is at the time of creation. Snapshots can be created in the control panel under 'Manage' >'Snapshots' in the 'BladeVPS' tab (see this tutorial).

By default one free snapshot is included with all packages from the PureSSD X2 and onward. To obtain more snapshots you can order additional snapshots in your control panel (under 'Manage' >'Order add-ons'). A VPS can save a maximum of twenty snapshots.

    • This image can be used to restore a previous state of your VPS whenever you want. Snapshots are not backups of individual files so they can only be restored as a whole.
    • The differences between backups and snapshots are explained in this article.
