Can I use multiple domains under one web hosting package?

When you use a web hosting package, you can link multiple domain names to it. However, adding a domain name to your package can be done in different ways: as an alias or as an extra website. In this article, we explain exactly what that means.

Add a domain name as an alias

With any standard web hosting package, you can add an unlimited number of domain names as aliases. An alias means that the added domain name is also linked to the website on the hosting package. This means that when you visit the alias domain, the same website is shown as on the main domain to which the alias was added.

Of course, the DNS must be pointed to the web hosting package for this to work. The steps to add your domain name as an alias can be found on this page: 'Add a domain alias to your web hosting package'.

A domain alias is only used to link the website to multiple domains. You can therefore not make e-mail addresses for a domain alias. In order to do so, a separate e-mail or webhosting package is needed on the domain in question.

If you do not use a web hosting package but still want to forward one domain name to another (for example, if your website is hosted elsewhere), you can use the Forwarding Service. More information about the forwarding service can be found on this page: 'I want to forward my domain name'.

Add a domain name as an extra website

If you use a Pro or Max web hosting package, you have the option to host multiple websites on the same web hosting package. If you want to host a website for a different domain name, you can add your domain name to the hosting package as an extra website.

This extra website then has its own section on your web hosting package and is separate from the website that is already on the package.

For more information and a step-by-step guide, visit this page: 'Add an extra website to your web hosting package'.
